About Innovative Alternatives

History
Innovative Alternatives, Inc. (IAI) was incorporated in 1989 with the mission of "serving the community through mediation and counseling." IAI is a nonprofit corporation supported through grants, donations, and contract fees. Over the years the agency has evolved to address the needs of the community by offering many additional services.

Mission Statement
IAI's mission as a nonprofit organization is "Serving the community through mediation, counseling and training since 1989. Partnering with individuals, families and organizations for success." IAI's goals are to provide conflict resolution, peer mediation, and anti-bullying programs for schools/school districts and other youth-serving programs; to provide progressive, pioneering service and professional development in the areas of general, family, and corporate mediation; and to provide quality counseling services to improve the lives of our clients in the General, Victim Assistance, or Family Preservation Counseling Programs.

IAI adheres to a philosophy of creating a supportive and compassionate environment in which healing and growth can be achieved. Residents, age four to senior, living in the Bay Area and surrounding communities can access the variety of services offered by IAI.
